The home office is truly a space where form and function in design is a necessity.
Whether the office area is to be tucked into a kitchen corner, a section of the guest room or in a designated office room, consider usage and users in planning furniture and computer pieces. Be sure the area is equipped with lighting, electric outlets and a landline if needed. Sketch a plan that incorporates a desk top for work surface, a credenza for files and bookshelves for display space. Select furniture in similar style that will flow with your home. A nightstand or end table can be repurposed as a printer stand. To make the space as cozy as the rest of our home, bring in décor such as a silver vase and pottery to hold pens, paper clips, etc. instead of the typical utilitarian office supplies. A framed family photo and a small vase of fresh flowers are the perfect finishing touch.
